Palacios Community Medical Center (PCMC) is a community-owned hospital. The hospital first opened in 1961 as Wagner General Hospital. It was renamed Palacios Community Medical Center in 2002. The Board of Directors of both the Foundation and the Hospital are from Palacios and the surrounding area. The Hospital is a 17-bed Critical Access Hospital with Outpatient/Inpatient Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Social Services, Sleep Studies, and In-House Pharmacy. It also offers 24-hour Emergency Room Services.
Our hospital accepts most insurance, but also offers Medicaid screening and other programs for our uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition to these services, we also assist patients with applying for food stamps, Children's Health Insurance Program, Medical Assistance Program and financial assistance.
Announcing... Palacios Medical Clinic is please to announce the addition of Dr. Gus Gross to our Clinic where he will begin seeing patients October 15, 2013. Dr. Gross graduated from Eastern Central University Medical School in the Dominican Republic, completing his post-graduate residency at Duke University Internal Medicine and east Tennessee State University Family Medicine. Dr. Gross brings 24 years of Primary Care, Hospital & Emergency Room experience to Palacios. He is also a Snakebite Specialist.
